These are really very lovely shorts. I bought them for sleeping but they could definitely be casual summer shorts. Nice fabric. Not too thin but not like super thick sweat pants either. Just be aware that you do not need to order a larger size. I ordered the XXL and I could fit 2 of me in there ( and in not a petite woman. I'm built like a sequoia). I would have had plenty of relaxed room in the xl and honestly might have been fine with a large, which is rare for me. So, order down a size and you'll love these pretty shorts that are just long enough to not make me feel awkward if I go out in the yard and see my neighbors.
